About the Artist

I’m an oil painter working in the Old Masters inspiration, filtered through a contemporary hand. My current body of work, the Labyrinth of Light Virtues Series, explores the seven Christian virtues as white marble figures set in living landscapes: hedge mazes, thorns, lanterns, and the kind of light that refuses to stay politely in the background.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts from The Pennsylvania State University and my Master’s from the Academy of Art University after a combat deployment to Iraq with the U.S. Army infantry. That sequence of events tends to recalibrate what you consider worth spending years of your life on.

I work primarily in oils because the medium rewards patience and still feels alive decades later. While much of my current work lives on canvas, I increasingly prefer cradled wood or hardboard panels especially for commissions because the surface is smoother for skin, more stable over time, and closer to the rigid supports the Old Masters actually used. Canvas is wonderful; heirloom durability is better.

When I’m not at the easel I’m online as the Lore Knight. An entertainer, storyteller, and slightly over-enthusiastic medieval enthusiast who happens to paint. The helmet comes out for content. The seriousness stays mostly on the canvas.

I live and paint in Arizona, where the light is honest and the heat keeps you humble.
